Alright people, snowstoked adventures – part 1. This summer, we really tried to think a little outside the box. The site was down and we really had time to do some snowboard unrelated stuff. We missed it, but we didn‘t complain about it; it was good. We had really good skate sessions and Mr. Jan even scored some good waves. Speaking of good waves, one my favorite surf videos this summer was GLOBE‘s Electric Blue Heaven. Have you seen it? It‘s the one with Dion Agius surfing the world‘s best wave pool. If you have seen it, I bet you wished to be Dion Agius. Admit! There’s no reason to be ashamed. Every guy dreams of surfing a wave pool that’s located in a horde of bikini gals. Some may not fess up, but they’re liars.
Anyway, time went on, we got in contact with the GLOBE dudes and came to know that those guys run a collab with the cats over at YES. They made a killer cruiser board plus a quite manly boot and you have three guesses what this very first snowstoked adventure is all about now. Below, my dear friend Jan will relate to you how our first day with the GLOBE package went down, and between his words I‘ve added the video from Dion. 09:00 am. I’m sitting at my desk. It’s 9 o’clock in the morning and our working day is supposed to start now.
09:16 am. Stefan is also sitting at his desk now. He was late… he always is.
09:39 am. Office day actually starts.
10:02 am. Stefan is doing his day-to-day coffee shit. Everyday the same.
10:51 am. Strategy meeting.
11:02 am. The postman drops the parcel from GLOBE and Stefan get inappropriately excited. He instantly rips the box apart, and takes the cruiser board for a walk. He’s way to excited… and he didn’t check the softness of the trucks.
11:05 am. Stefan learns the hard way that the GLOBE x YES. cruiser board can be a little bitchy as soon as the truck screw is not tightened. He lies on the floor. Whining. Licking his wounds.
11:05 am. I laugh.
11:07 am. Stefan posts a picture of his major injuries on Instagram.
11:09 am. Dude gets up from the street, carries the board back to the office, tightens screw.
11:10 am. I’m slowly stop laughing. Made my day.
11:22 am. Stefan chucks the board aside and takes care of the shoes instead. In fact, he takes cares of the shoe since there was only one in the package.
11:24 am. Stefan doesn’t know how to test only one shoe. Since this shoe is made for real man stuff I think he originally wanted to test it on mountains and rocks or so. I don’t know, he’s looking kind of stupid at the moment. Creepy.
11:26 am. He is creepy!
11:28 am. Welp, there we go. He just hit me with his new best friend. Came to the conclusion it’s a hard-knock boot. Trust me.
11:30 am. Stefan just went for a piss with the shoe. According to him, it was the most manly piss he has ever taken.
11:32 am. Meanwhile he’s sitting at his desk again and tries to exhaust the Google machine with stupid stuff like “how to test one manly hard-knock boot”, “GLOBE x YES. test tutorials” or “women with boobs”. No success.
11:42 am. Sticks with the results of “women with boobs”. Dickhead. No one’s looking for boobs on Google.
12:06 am. Lunch.
12:49 pm. Stefan is still running around with this damn shoe.
01:12 pm. I hate him.
01:20 pm. Still creepy…
01:33 pm. Coffee.
02:02 pm. I take a few laps around the block with the board and Stefan’s dog, Sam. Result: the cruiser is a perfect board for just cruising around the city. It’s awesome. And Stefan’s is a really horrible skater, by the way.
03:23 pm. Stefan finishes some work for the site and the tough research on Google. He grabs the board, blah, goes to the car, blah, blah, we drive away, blah, blah, blah. I know you kids don’t read stuff so I decided to tell the upcoming two hours in moving pictures.
Afterwards we put all the stuff back in the convertible, heard Sabbath, dashed towards to the sunset, holding hands. At least that’s what it felt like. Creepy. Anyways, the GLOBE x YES. collabo is damn good stuff and I definitely recommend you to get your hands on it. Here’s some more deets…
